Thank God saw an occupancy of around 20-25% thanks to the Diwali holiday, reports Box Office India. It is lesser as compared to Ram Setu. Akshay Kumar is more popular in circuits like like Gujarat, Rajasthan and CI, which is why Thank God, despite being a comedy, is getting weaker response, the report further stated.
Trade predicts, it will be an average Diwali at the box office this year as the combined collection will be lesser than that of Sooryavanshi that released last year. “There is no excitement around both the films and the audience have not been going to the theatres like they used to. The content of the films is a big factor. It’s always the family entertainment films that work on Diwali. So out of the two, I feel Thank God will take over Ram Setu,” film distributor Raj Bansal had said to ETimes.
