NHPC(down 3.64%), Energy Development Company(down 3.31%), Indowind Energy(down 2.67%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.57%), RTNPOWER(down 2.33%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.85%), KPI Green Energy(down 1.59%), SJVN(down 1.38%), Torrent Power(down 1.30%) and Adani Power(down 1.22%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 49.85 points up at 17786.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 203.01 points at 59959.85.

Enterprises(up 3.05%), NTPC(up 1.99%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.5%), Coal India(up 1.45%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.44%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.38%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.35%) and Bajaj Auto(up 1.34%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 2.5%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.5%), Grasim Industries(down 2.33%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 2.14%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.03%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.81%), ICICI Bank(down 1.79%), State Bank of India(down 1.54%), JSW Steel(down 1.35%) and Axis Bank(down 1.32%) closed in the red.
