On Saturday, the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting announced the official selection for the Indian Panorama section at the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which is scheduled from November 20-28. This year, 25 films have been selected in the Feature Film category, while five films will be screened in the mainstream Feature Film category – SS Rajamouli’s RRR (Telugu), Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files (Hindi), Avijit Sen’s Tonic (Bengali), Boyapati Srinivasa Rao’s Akhanda (Telugu) and Parvin Vitthal Tarde’s Dharmveer. . . Mukkam Post Thane (Marathi). Other films in the Feature Film category include Jai Bhim (Tamil) and Major (Hindi).
Hadinelentu (Kannada) and The Show Must Go On (English) will be the opening films in the Feature and Non-Feature Film category, respectively. “The selected films for the Indian Panorama section will also have not-for profit screenings at international film festivals in India and abroad, Indian film weeks held under bilateral cultural exchange programmes and specialised Indian film festivals outside cultural exchange protocols, and special Indian panorama festivals in India,” the I&B ministry said in a note. The Indian Panorama section at IFFI is organised by the National Film Development Corporation of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
