The Congress hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “black magic” remark on Wednesday. The Congress alleged that while the country wants PM Modi to talk about their problems, the prime minister keeps saying something else.
Sharing a picture of PM Modi in black clothes, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the prime minister is making a pointless issue.
“They could not do anything to bring black money, now they are making a pointless issue about black clothes. The country wants the prime minister to talk about their problems, but ‘jumlajeevi’ keeps saying anything,” Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet in Hindi.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also took a swipe at the prime minister saying people do not have problems with black clothes but on your leadership.
“Narendra Modi ji, don’t talk here and there, tell us why you looted by increasing inflation. The public has no problem with black clothes, they have questions on your leadership,” she said in a tweet in Hindi.
WHAT DID PM MODI SAY?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at the Congress for the ‘black’ protest held on August 5. Dressed in all black, Congress leaders took to the streets on August 5 to protest against price rise, unemployment, and the hike in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on essential items.
“Some people are resorting to black magic as they are immersed in despair and negativity. On August 5, there was an attempt to propagate black magic. These people think that by wearing black clothes they will be able to end their period of despair,” the prime minister said in an all-out attack on the Congress.
“Some people in our country are trapped in the vortex of negativity and are immersed in despair. Despite their constant lies against the government, the public is not ready to trust them,” PM Modi added.
Coming down heavily on the culture of distributing freebies to get more votes in elections, the prime minister said, “Anyone can come and announce to give free petrol and diesel if their politics is self-centred. Such steps will take away the rights from our children and prevent the country from becoming self-reliant. It will increase the burden on the taxpayers.”
