A few BJP workers clashed with each other during a ‘tiranga yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Wednesday, August 10. The workers, who were gathered in the Motijheel area to welcome UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, were involved in a conflict, following which a clash ensued.

The dispute began after vehicles from two groups clashed during the yatra, which the Deputy CM was slated to participate in. Soon, senior leaders brought the situation under control.

BJP Kanpur unit chief, Sunil Bajaj, said it was a “small fight between kids regarding the bike accident.”

“These are BJP workers. They are disciplined. The yatra went ahead in a peaceful manner,” he added.

Meanwhile, mocking the BJP, Leader of Opposition and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav ‘requested’ the saffron party not to turn the tiranga yatra into a “riot yatra”.
